Age Concern has information and advice on Elder Abuse, and resources for those working with older people, who are concerned about violence.

Provides services to families who are in need of support. They host the Porirua Community Family Violence Network Coordinator who is an advocate for children and youth who witness family violence and offer free support for families that have family violence as an issue. Child, Youth and Family staff manage a wide range of services to carry out statutory and preventative social work practice. This includes working with families and whanau, community agencies and other professionals to:

  • Protect children
  • Manage young offenders
  • Ensure that children in need are secure and cared for

  • Facilitate the adoption process

They also fund and support a wide range of community-based social services, with a focus on children, young people and families in need of support.

Work and Income
